#Skytree

As the last amber embers of sunset dissolve into a gradient of dusk-indigo over Eastern Tokyo, Tokyo Skytree ignites its cool blue "Iki" illumination. Below the tower's needle-sharp pinnacle, an endless expanse of city blocks begins to flicker alive with evening street lamps, car trails, and commuter rail ribbons.

Centuries of Japanese architectural history converge within a single upward glance in historic Asakusa. The curved ceramic-tiled eaves and hanging wind bells of the five-story temple pagoda stand in harmonious counterpoint to the lattice-steel spire of Tokyo Skytree, soaring 634 meters into the clear morning ether.
